The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle is billed as a guide to spiritual enlightenment. It’s goal is to help you become more present in daily life. I read this book recently. In this post I’ll be giving you my review of this book.
Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now has a stated goal of being a guide to spiritual enlightenment. This book helps you to become more present in the moment. It also helps you to realize that your ego and “thinking” mind are not really you, merely components.
The book, The Power of Now, is formatted as a series of questions and responses. There are questions similar to the ones that Eckhart Tolle is normally asked. Then the question is answered. The goal of this format is to address similar questions that the reader may have.
I enjoyed reading The Power of Now on my Kindle Paperwhite. Many of the questions and answers helped to show errors in thinking patterns. I have read this book a couple of times now. Each time I revisit it, it seems to reveal something new. This is a good book to sit where you can pick it up and read a couple of pages at a time.
The Kindle Audiobook of The Power of Now was even better than the text version. The Audiobook version has two separate readers, so the question and answer format really shines. Eckhart voices his parts, and his voice is soothing to listen to. Check out the Audiobook if you enjoy that format.
Overall, the Power of Now is a good book to read if you are interested in being more present in your daily life. The format of the book helps to reveal errors in thinking patterns. The book is easy to pick up and read a small segment or two. The audio book is soothing to listen to. I would recommend buying them both and reading them.
